2003 Shiraz

Few Washington winemakers can hide their enthusiasm for the 2002 vintage. Many attribute the high quality to the low yields per acre that resulted in grapes with intense flavor and good structure. Warm summer temperatures were offset by a cool weather pattern in late September that slowed ripening just enough to allow the grapes extra time on the vine to mature as harvest continued at an even pace through mid-October.

Spicy berry aromas give this wine its initial appeal then take on added complexity across the palate. Ripe blackberry and blueberry echo across a lengthy finish.
